Antoneta came along with me to Washington when I went to the AGU meeting in May 2000 - and we popped along to see Rupert in New York afterwards.

The foyer of the Air and Space museum - probably the best bit, actually. Full of classics, like the X-15 (black, on the right), the Spirit of St. Louis (bottom left), the X-1 (yellow, middle right) and the Pioneer 10 flight model (on the left). The latter is particularly significant to me, because I analyse data from Pioneer 10.

Antoneta and I were particuarly taken by this, which is called "Conversation Piece."

Obligatory shots of the Washington memorial, but it never seemed to come out right...

... see?

Georgetown, where all the rich people live.

I was surprised this shot of the Metro came out at all. Very 70's sci-fi.

We couldn't miss out the shot of the White House.
